The Smart Beach Volleyball Tour 2007 at Münsterplatz (17 -19.08.) was in every respect a great success. It was a mostly dry, sunny, warm and windless – the ideal weather for playing outdoor-volleyball – and the competition, played over three days, attracted approx. 25000 visitors to watch often thrilling matches between athletic men’s and attractive bikini-clad women’s teams.
Maria Elisa Antonelli and Leao Val are the winners of women’s tournament. The Brazilians won the final match (2-1) against Geeske Banck/Katrin Holtwick (VC Olympia Berlin/FT Adler Kiel). Jan Günther/Sebastian Prüsener (SCC Berlin) were successful in the men’s class (2-0) against Kay Matisyk/Stefan Uhmann (VC Olympia Berlin/Kölledaer SV).
