The first Turkish Embassy in Germany since World War II was developed by architect Vedat Öszan from Ankara and established in 1970 in Bad Godesberg-Mehlem. In 1999 the diplomats moved from Bonn to Berlin. Since that time embassy chancery and residence, located close to the Rhine at Utestraße/Gernotstraße, stand empty.
